Walk the Plank VR rental for trade shows, parties and conferences
Walk the Plank is the experience people talk about on the way home. Your guest steps into an elevator, rides to the 80th floor, the doors open, and there is a plank sticking out over the street. On the floor in front of them is a real wooden plank, so when they shuffle out in the headset their feet feel the edge. Some people run it; most edge out and laugh nervously, and a few will not get past the elevator doors, which is half the entertainment for the crowd watching the screen. Two to three minutes per person, start to finish.
It comes as a full package: the headset, controllers and VR computer, the physical plank, and an event manager who runs the line, spots each guest and resets the game. The premium package adds a branded backdrop, floor decal and headset decals. It needs an 8 by 8 foot space and one standard outlet, no Wi-Fi, and it is the best first VR experience we have for a crowd that has never put on a headset. We bring it to trade show booths, company parties and conferences as part of our virtual reality rental service, and it pairs with the home run derby, the racing simulator and headset stations when you want a second line.

Trade Shows are about traffic, and driving traffic requires creating a booth space that invites people in, and incentivizes them to stay. This experience is great for both as it separates your space from the others while delivering an experience guests can’t get anywhere else.
Parties
We’ve never brought this rental package to an event and failed to have a good time. Once a few brave souls have walked the plank, they want their friends, coworkers, bosses, acquaintances, etc. to try as well. Once you’ve done it, you naturally want to see others try it too!

What is Walk the Plank?
An elevator ride to the 80th floor of a virtual tower, doors that open onto a plank over the street, and a real plank under your feet. The game is Richie’s Plank Experience; the physical plank is ours, and it is what makes people’s knees go.
How much does it cost to rent?
Priced by the day with the event manager, the plank and the standard theming included; branding is the premium add-on. Send the date, venue and head count through the form and you will get the full quote with travel.
How long does each guest take?
Two to three minutes from the elevator to the end of the plank, or less if they jump.
Is it suitable for all ages and first-time VR users?
Yes. There is nothing to learn and no controller to master; you walk at your own pace. We have had guests from ten to ninety-two walk it. The event manager stands beside the plank the whole time.
How much space does it need?
An 8 by 8 foot clear area for the plank and the guest, one standard outlet, no Wi-Fi. Leave room around it for people to watch; they will.
